Weekly Bulletin: Staying connected as a church - 7 April 2024

Kia ora St John’s whānau,

Easter has brought hope in a way that opens up a new and different kind of world.

We celebrate this hope together this Sunday as we accept the peace that Jesus gives us by his presence.  We hear the story of Peter being reconciled back into relationship with Jesus – another sort of ‘Beach Clean Up’!

We will all gather in the Church at 10am and our young people will go out part-way to their peer groups.

If you can’t gather in the city, and you want to join the worship service via Zoom, here are the details to access the live-stream:

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT…

BEACH CLEAN UP

This Sunday, following the morning service (and Morning Tea) we will be having a beach cleanup and picnic.
Starting from the St John's site, those who are able will be walking to Oriental Bay and picking up rubbish as we walk down. We will have a picnic on the beach and spend some time with each other.
Please bring warm clothes and covered shoes.
This is a way to engage with each other, have a bit of fun and be actively engaged in God's creation by being good stewards.
We will provide you with rubbish bags, gloves and you have the option to wear one of our amazingly bright St John’s t-shirts.

MINISTRY ASSISTANT POSITION

With our Youth Pastor Hannah North seconded for part of her time each week doing chaplaincy at Scots College, we are needing support for the Youth & Families Ministry during the week and on Sundays.
Our St John’s Vision is encouraging us to focus on being intergenerational, having safe spaces for people to belong, being flexible and responsive, with an open-minded and positive culture.
We are inviting applications from those who have a passion and aptitude for supporting our ministry in a part-time paid capacity, complementing the work of the dedicated volunteer teams who have the call to serve God and God’s people.
Please contact the St John’s Office for more information, including the position description. Applications are due to the Office by Wednesday 10th April.

The Peace of the Risen Christ be with you
