Weekly Bulletin: Staying connected as a church - Easter 2023

Kia ora St John’s whānau,

This weekend is the most holy in the Christian year, as we again take-in the costly love Jesus displays for us all.

GOOD FRIDAY
We worship at 10am, reflecting on the mockery Jesus endured as he goes to the cross.

After our worship we share Hot Cross buns in the St John’s Centre.

EASTER SUNDAY
We worship at 10am, celebrating the overcoming of death in the raising of Jesus. This will include Holy Communion.

Many of our young people will be away at Easter Camp this weekend. There will be no peer groups, and so we will remain all together for our worship at Easter.

There is a special Breakfast at 8:45am in the Centre, prior to the worship service. A $5 koha is requested for this.

There is a special Easter Hunt after the service!

If you can’t gather in the city, and you want to join the worship service via Zoom, here are the details to access the live-stream:

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT...

VISION

Our recent workshop to generate new Vision initiatives was very successful! Thank you to those who participated in pursuing our Vision:
We explore and share the gospel with our dynamic neighbourhood. We create safe spaces to be, to belong, and to navigate the tough stuff. Getting to know God is a team sport – that’s why we do this together, not alone.

We want to prioritise initiatives that:

  • Explore and share the Gospel

  • Make us recognisable as a Church community in the city

  • Emphasise love, fun and friendliness

  • Encourage inclusion, belonging and participation

There are some tremendous ideas that the Project Teams are planning, and these will be shared with everyone soon so that you can get involved!
