Here is some info on The Boys’
Brigade, 2nd Wellington Company, an exciting organisation for boys
aged 7 up.
The Boys’ Brigade
programme channels natural energy and enthusiasm into interesting,
challenging and adventurous activities.
Here at St John’s
BB we focus on a programme of physical, social, adventurous, and
service activities. We encourage Christian values and self-respect,
and we hope to provide a programme through which you will develop
strength of character which stay with you for life.
Meeting Times and Activities
Juniors (ages 7 up) Mondays 5:45 - 7:00pm
Seniors (age 11 up) Mondays 6:30 - 8:30pm
What we do

Senior tramp Waitangi
weekend 2009
Activities have included
expeditions, learning to play drums, drill and team challenges,
first aid, movie making, building along with the occasional venture
on the paintball or laser force field.
Sports activities included basketball, indoor cricket, American
Football and several games that our creative department invented.
Each year we also have great camps. In the past these have been
Survivor Tai Rawhiti on the East Coast and Waikanae

The National Leadership
Development Course (NLDC) a fantastic training course for senior
high school students
Leaders
Juniors (age 7 up) Bryan Penlington (a Queen’s Man) and Matthew
Bayliss (a Queen’s Man and Carey Bible College graduate)
Seniors (age 11 up) Daniel Arnold (a Queen’s Man), Kwasi Afosa
(generally awesome) and David Jackson (Captain and a youth worker).
We are also supported by Rev. Allister Lane (Chaplain) and Sandy
Lawson (Elder).
Boys and leaders come from as far afield as Berhampore, Brooklyn,
Lyall Bay and Porirua and as close as the Aro Valley.

All boys are rewarded
for the hard work they put in through out the year. The badge programme
recognise effort in all areas as boys develop in to men.
